DAY FOUR
Today has been pretty good food wise. I stuck to the the plan all day. I'm a little bit upset because my shin splints have started playing up again. I don't know what's going on! Shin splints normally play up for people when they've been running lots, as a result of a sudden increase in exercise, or from high impact sports. While I have increased my exercise, I've mainly been using the cross-trainer and other low impact machines. I'm going to use ice and other anti-inflammatory measures to see if I get can it under control myself before I go to the physio.
Food:
Breakfast: Optifast chocolate shake and green tea
Lunch: Cauliflower croquettes and salad
Afternoon snack: Second shake
Dinner: Cauliflower croquettes, salad and final shake
Snacks: 2 cans of diet coke and diet jelly
Exercise:
While I didn't do any "formal" exercise today, my incidental exercise was fantastic! I have a green waste collection coming up in a couple of weeks time. So I spent at least 2 hours (with a break for lunch) in my garden digging up weeds, pulling out old plants and trying to dig out a tree. It may not be the most intense exercise, but I can assure you I was sweating by the end of it!
Temptation:
Temptation:
I visited my parents' place today. I actually only moved out this year, so it still seems very much like home to me. The one issue is that they love to entertain and as a result, their house is always filled with wonderful food. I have to admit I found myself staring blankly in the fridge at one point - amazing cheeses, left-over dessert, lasagna, dips... I could go on. I thought of this blog, grabbed a big glass of water and distracted myself. Phew, crisis averted for one day.
